Happy Halloween
We had a lot of fun on Halloween this year. The weather was perfect. First Jenny took some wonderful pictures of the kids in their costumes. Then we went out to dinner before going trick-or-treating with Grandma, Troy, Sherry, Stacey, and Jessica. Addison went out for a little while but then she played with Grandma and Grandma M. while we continued trick-or-treating. Gavin was so excited. It only took him a couple houses before he remembered what to do. As soon as the door opened Gavin stuck his bucket out (sometimes right in their face). The first few houses he was very excited to see what he got but after that he didn't care--he was in too big of a hurry to go to the next house.
After we were done, Troy transformed into a girl for his Halloween party, but I must say he is not a very attractive girl. Sorry Troy!

Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins. The weather was much better than last year. Gavin thought we needed a ton of pumpkins. We got 3 big ones and 3 tiny ones and he did not think that was enough. He was trying to pick them up and carry them to the wheelbarrow. He sure is strong! Addison just loves to be outside so she was happy. She would have been even happier if we had let her get down and crawl around.
Happy Birthday Gavin

Gavin celebrated his 4th birthday on October 7th. He received tons of presents and he was very excited about his transformer cake. While he was opening his presents he was very careful to clean up all of the wrapping paper--it was quite impressive. I can't believe he is 4 already. They sure grow up fast! Gavin is definitely spoiled. Before everyone else arrived for his party, I brought up his presents and he said "Is that all?" For days afterward, he kept asking if he was having another party. Despite being spoiled, Gavin is a pretty good little boy (when he wants to be). He has enjoyed going to preschool this year and has gotten very interested in his letters. He is always trying to figure out what letter words start with.

"I think she's dead!"
So we had a very exciting day on Friday. It all started with me putting dishes away. I was putting some mugs away and they clanked (is that a word?) together. One of them broke and sliced my hand open. It was bleeding pretty badly so I called Carl. While talking to him I proceeded to pass out. I woke up to Gavin and Astrid standing over me saying "Is she dead? I think she's dead." Believe me, it is not a great experience waking up to your child saying this. I assured them I wasn't dead. Carl, who had left his job immediately after I passed out, got home shortly after. We carted the kids off to Jenny (who saved me again) and Carl took me to get stitches. I only needed 3 but I also had to get a tetanus shot which I think is worse than the stitches because my arm still hurts! My hand is doing fine and only hurt a little bit on the first day. It is mostly just an inconvenience! I would post a picture but I don't like to look at it.

Tee-Ball
Gavin started playing tee-ball last week. The first game we didn't have a coach so he was the only one on his team who showed up. Luckily we got a coach by the next game and more kids came. Gavin was very excited to play tee-ball when we went to buy his mitt. However, he is very timid when it comes to doing things with other kids that he doesn't know. He likes to bat and run (trot-very slowly) around the bases, but he is not so fond of standing in the outfield unless Carl is out there with him. He has this huge fear of flying bugs lately! He also likes to play in the dirt and wipe the dirt off the bases. The games are actually quite comical to watch!
Gavin and Carl had a great time at Boondocks on Labor Day. Their favorite, of course, was the go-karts. I don't understand what is so great about driving a little car around and around the track, but they loved it! They also liked shooting the water guns on the boat ride, even though it was kind of a chilly day. When we went inside Gavin had fun playing laser tag and all of the shooting arcade games. What is it with boys and shooting? Addison and I enjoyed watching the boys for a while but then we were pretty bored. It is definitely not the best place to go when you have a little baby.

Sorry it's taken me so long to post our pictures at Huntington Beach. We had a great time. It was a beautiful day to be at the beach. Gavin was a little scared of the water at first but as you can see he overcame his fear. Addison hated the water, but she loves to be outside. They both enjoyed the sand. Gavin and Carl dug a huge hole. Addison liked to throw the sand and she snuck in a few mouthfuls!

Vacation!
We had such a fun vacation. Gavin loved Disneyland and Addison just stared at everything in wonder and amazement. Gavin was barely tall enough to go on The Matterhorn and Splash Mountain so, of course, those were his favorite! He was so excited to tell everyone that he saw a monster on the matterhorn and he wasn't scared! We even went on it in the dark which I thought would be more scary but he was ready to do it again. He got soaked on Splash Mountain but he didn't seem to mind. The kids were pretty patient considering how long the lines were. Gavin really liked watching all of the characters in the Pixar parade. Addison had more fun watching the water fall. Gavin also liked the Buzz Light Year rides where we got to shoot at things. Addison loves to be outside so she was pretty happy most of the time. She did really well taking her naps in the stroller whenever she was tired. She also got to sample some real food. She loves bread and pancakes but does not like chocolate icecream. Too bad we didn't have the camera. You should have seen the look on her face before she started screaming. If you want to know more about our vacation, ask Gavin--he would be happy to tell you all about it (and I do mean ALL about it). I will post the pictures of the beach another soon.

Swimming
We went swimming tonight at Monika's pool. It was Addison's first time and she did surprisingly well. I think she was enjoying it even though it was a little bit chilly. Gavin loves his little boat and he enjoyed jumping into the pool with it.
Motor Boat
Addison likes to make motor boat sounds. She also thinks it is the greatest thing to blow raspberries when I am trying to feed her. She sprays food everywhere including all over me!
Family Reunion
Here are a few pictures of Gavin at our family reunion. He went on a treasure hunt, hit a pinata, and dug for coins. He also discovered that he loves fried chicken legs!

Tagged
Jenny tagged me a while ago and I have been very slow to respond. Sorry. I'm not so excited to write about myself. I've been trying to think of things but it is taking me forever. Here goes:
5 Random or Weird facts about me-
1. My second toe is shorter than my third toe. I think this is normal but Carl thinks it's weird.
2. I have a million clothes in my closet that I never wear because I like the feeling of having a full closet.
3. I like feeling busy. I get more done when I have less time to do it.
4. I don't like to go to places I've never been before by myself.
5. I don't like to leave my house without having my hair done and my make-up on.

Are you happy now Jenny? I tag Amber.
Memories
I'm a little slow, but I do want to play the game.
Here are the directions: 1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! 2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. :) If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.
Amber and Jenny check your comments because I finally left you a memory!

We're in trouble!
Addison is already developing her dad's fascination with computers. Whenever one of us is sitting at the computer she has to sit with us. But she doesn't just sit there. Her favorite thing is to pound on the keyboard with both hands. She also likes to grab the mouse and any papers that might be close enough to reach. She tries to eat these.
I hate Peas!
We have discovered that Addison is not nearly as much fun to feed as Gavin was. He ate everything and said Mmmm with every bite. This is not the case with Addison. So far she does not like peas, peaches, and chicken and rice (it has peas in it). When she doesn't like something she spits it all over the place and grunts and cries. Getting showered with baby food is not my favorite thing. I hope we don't find anything else she doesn't like.
Slacker!
Sorry I have been such a slacker lately. It seems every time I sit down to blog I get interrupted! Like now, for instance, I have two sentences written and I have to go get Addison because she just woke up and is screaming. I also haven't had very good pictures to post so I haven't been very motivated to post anything.

Petting Zoo
Today we went with our play group to the petting zoo at Gardner Village. It was pretty neat! The animals are just walking around or lying down and you can just go around and pet them. Gavin especially liked the pony ride. His pony was named Sparky. The animals seemed to like Addison more than she liked them.
Party At The Zoo!
Saturday was my mom's company party at the zoo. Gavin had a great time! He loves the zoo. Some of the days highlights include: face painting, a carousel ride, a train ride, and a special ride around the zoo by one of the workers.
